It took me off-guard that some of the more screentime-friendly candidates that were fired were fairly well-established comedic actors that gained their reputation from that style of humor Apatow is now stereotyped for. I won't complain their casting choice as I like their style of humor and they didn't do poorly with their roles, but it was still a surprise. Oh, I can imagine that a majority of them were, in fact, real people. At one point I was expecting it to leak promo material for an Apatow film. I am thankful that I was completely wrong.
