Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now a writer of self help books and when her book tour brings her back to the sleepy little town of Woodsboro, she gets more than some signings to deal with. It seems that the night before her return and on the anniversary of the original killings, two high school kids are brutally murdered by Ghostface, the masked villain the massacre that shook the town years before. But who is he this time? That is what Sydney, along with old acquaintances Gale Weathers Riley (Courtney Cox), the reporter turned writer herself, and her new husband Dewey Riley (David Arquette) of the police.
