Review:

I’m just going to say it without holding back; this movie was great! If you like romantic comedies, life stories, and cute little puppies then you will love this movie! I was questioning this film when watching the trailer, yet I was pulled in with the humor it imposed. Though I was not aware of the heart touching story that came with the film as a whole.

From start to finish this movies ties all knots and twists all strings with a comical beginning to an emotion driven ending. At the start of the movie the film does a great job of presenting a solid and clear background story. Continuing, the movie then changes its focus by introducing its new character, Marley. With this new character, the focus of the movie shifted slightly but not as much as you’d think. They play Marley to be an important part of John Grogan’s new found life but not entirely. As you suspected from the trailer of this movie the mainstream is in actuality not Marley yet the directors use a semi-extended fast forward scene of John’s column topics to show Marley’s importance factor in John’s life.

This movie is the story of John Grogan’s life after marriage. The movie trailer seems to be misleading from the meaning to the movie. With no intimate or emotionally faulting scenes in the trailer, the movie is displayed as a fun-filled comedy. When, after viewing, the movie is a heart-touching love story.

So now you know about the film Marley and Me so if you seem interested but are a little suspicious about the trailer you now have all the facts to make an accurate decision! Go see the movie and post your comments!

Review:

To start off, THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE! In my eyes, Jim Carrey is back! Or was never gone, either way this is an excellent movie! Jim Carrey puts himself in the movie as he did with Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. If your a die-hard Carrey fan, then you’ve probably already seen the movie. If you haven’t, you will and you wont regret it.

There is not much I can really say about this movie because Jim has been my idol my whole life, I love his humor, and I’m almost positive my best friend has the same potential as him. Some people are just funny the way they are! The studio does a great job of giving Jim the proper environments he needed to work his character to the core. But don’t be fooled… Some skeptical people are disgusted by this movie.

There are people I’ve spoken to suggesting that Yes Man is to similar to Jim’s past movie Liar Liar. Sure it’s the same concept, but it is a different situation and a different point of view. All together, the price of a movie ticket is well worth seeing this great actor work his magic with the filming industry.

The thing I am looking forward to most with this movie is the behind the scenes, deleted scenes, and all the blooper extras because everyone knows what Jim does on-camera is only a snippet of his comedy.

Review:

Bombing, intense, crazy, action-filled, jumpy are all adjectives to describe this amazing film. This opened the movie up to a lot of expectations within the starting 5 minutes. Casino Royale (the previous James Bond movie) is very similar, in so many ways, with Quantum of Solace. The only clear difference is the speed and background information. To start I will identify Casino Royale’s strengths and weaknesses, then compare them with Quantum of Solace’s.

In the beginning of Casino Royale the film was action-filled from the start yet it explained in a lot of detail the background story to this new James Bond. But in Quantum of Solace’s beginning moments, there was little explanation of a background story and a lot of action from the start. The very minimal background story was almost not efficient enough to occupy capacity of the movie. With the overflow of activity in different environments and little back-bone to the story the movie was lost on the main idea in viewers eyes but upheld itself with massive amounts of action. The end of the movie didn’t follow the pattern of its previous film, which is a good thing, by just continuing with the story accordingly and not throwing in any puzzling pieces to the end of the film. However, both movies had one big ending action event taking place to signify the end of the films.

In many ways Quantum of Solace is a great movie, but I was hoping to be more drawn in with this high hitting James Bond film with a background story then massive amounts of action. If you can easily interpret a film and follow along intentively then this is a great movie choice for you! I will leave you with two last thoughts:

  • Enjoy the amazing action scenes.
  • Bond’s past is catching up with him! (teaser)
