Review:

In an age long ago, two brothers (Danny McBride, James Franco) lived in the castle of a kingdom on the verge of destruction. But even with the problems, Fabious (Franco) is going to wed the beautiful BellaDonna (Zooey Deschanel). But before their marriage can proceed, she is kidnapped by the evil and powerful wizard Leezar (Justin Thereox), which fancies her for himself, thus depriving the kingdom and her husband-to-be of the wedding. Fabious, who is brave and courageous, not to mention experienced at this sort of thing decides to take out after her, but the king realizes it’s really a job for two and tells the lazy, womanizing, beer swilling brother Thaddeus (McBride) that he must accompany his sibling on the quest or face the consequences of banishment. Given know choice, Thaddeus agrees and they start out, with servant in tow. Read more…

Review:

Sucker Punch tells the story of a young lady (Emily Browning) who has lost a great deal of that which she loved. In the wake of the tragedy, instead of finding solace in her stepfather, he abuses her to the point where it comes to a vicious confrontation on both sides. He wants the inheritance that was supposed to be for her sister and her. So in order to get her out of the way, he decides to lock Baby Doll away in order to avoid any more entanglements. So without her knowledge, he has her committed to a mental institution run by three horrible captors (Oscar Isaac, Carla Gugino, and Jon Hamm). She wakes up to find the predicament she’s in and that she’s about to be lobotomized in five days time. Read more…

Review:

In a unique twist on a concept introduced in TV’s Quantum Leap, a special individual can actually jump into another person’s body through the use of a machine. But unlike Sam Beckett in the TV show, the bodies that are jumped into will die in eight minutes. But we are not aware of that at the start of the film, and neither is Colter Stevens, an army helicopter pilot, who suddenly finds himself on a commuter train in Boston. He has no clue why he is there. All he knows is that this beautiful woman sitting across from him apparently knows him and that his name is not Stevens, but Sean. Stevens (played by Jake Gyllenhaal of Brokeback Mountain fame) must figure out why he’s there, what is going on, and stop what is about to happen to the train that kills everyone aboard and has eight minutes to do it, sort of. Review:

In the live action/computer generated film from Universal, Hop tells the tale of the Easter Bunny (Russell Brand) who has retired and left his legacy to his son, but the son doesn’t want it. Instead he wants to be a drummer and goes to Hollywood to get a gig. On the way, he’s “hit” by a car and fakes injury, so the man (James Marsters) takes him home with him. Of course, he’s not the best roommate and gets into all sorts of trouble, leaving the unemployed guy to clean up his messes. Meanwhile, since there is a vacuum of power on Easter Island, a chick decides he will be new symbol of Easter, creating an army to fight against the return of the Easter Bunny who must decide if he wants to take up his legacy or not.
