Review:

In this origin story of the Cimmerian warrior, Conan the Barbarian is shown from his bloody birth on the battlefield, literally cut out of his mother’s stomach by his father (Ron Perlman) to his training as a young warrior (Leo Howard) to his final transformation into the man (Jason Momoa) who would become a legend. It seems that an evil sorcerer Kahlar Zym (Stephen Lang) wants an ancient mask that holds horrific powers, but pieces of it were scattered to different Cimmerian villages after the war to keep the power from ever being used again. His searching brings him to Conan’s village, where the boy’s father is killed right before his eyes and Conan vows to get his revenge. But Zym discovers that the mask’s power has one other requirement, the blood of a descendant of the tribe for which it was forged and so he sends his witchy daughter (Rose McGowan) to find her. But when Conan rescues her from the evil sorceress, he finds himself in a web of not only barbaric events but magical ones as well. Read more…
